U-Research: Andrea Kautz

I am a recent graduate of EEOB and currently a Master’s student in Entomology. I am interested in how long-legged fly abundance/diversity is impacted by different management practices in agroecosystems. I will be comparing vegetable crop management on organic and conventional farms in Ohio. These flies are predatory and have been shown to be beneficial predators of several agricultural pests. My work in the lab on the other hand, involves stress hormones in arthropod moms and their impact on behavior in the offspring.
