Have you ever wondered who chips and chirps in the bushes and trees on campus? Join students and instructors of the EEOB Ohio Birds class this Earth Day (4/22) to learn about birds on campus. Many resident birds breed on campus but even more bird species use the green spaces as stop over sites on their long migrations to their breeding grounds farther north. Some 90 bird species have previously been reported on campus during the month of April! As part of the project BioPresence, raising awareness of animals on campus, help us document as many birds as we can. Meet us on the front steps of Jennings Hall (1735 Neil Ave) at 8AM from where we will proceed north on Neil Ave to Mirror Lake, continue to the Oval before we head west to the newly restored Olentangy river and Drake Union. We will walk north along the bike path to Lane Ave bridge where Cliff Swallows build their nests to breed. Please bring a pair of binoculars if you have one, we will have a limited number for loan that morning.
