ASC Staff Excellence Award: A more informal means of recognizing staff in the college on a monthly basis throughout the year. Recipients are selected by the Executive Dean and Divisional Deans.

Outstanding Staff Award: Recognizes staff members in the Arts and Sciences who have demonstrated sustained excellence in overall job performance and have improved or enhanced work life and services of faculty, staff, students, and/or the university.

ASC Susan M. Hartmann Mentoring and Leadership Award: Presented annually to a faculty member, regular staff member or student from within The Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences who has demonstrated outstanding mentoring to and/or leadership on behalf of women or other historically underrepresented groups at the university.
CGS Kerry M. Hodak Award for Exceptional Staff Mentoring: Created in 2020, this award recognizes a staff member who exemplifies the spirit of cura personalis in aiding the academic, personal, and professional development of graduate students. This award is given annually each spring to one Ohio State staff member.
Distinguished Staff Award: Honors staff members for their outstanding achievements, service, leadership and dedication to The Ohio State University. It is the highest honor bestowed upon staff at the university since its inception in 1984.

Postdoctoral Scholar Mentor of the Year Award: Presented to a postdoctoral researcher, fellow, or scholar who has demonstrated outstanding mentoring of junior trainees (high school, undergraduate, or graduate students) through leadership and support.
Postdoctoral Service Award: Presented to a postdoctoral scholar who has demonstrated a profound, sustained leadership contribution to improving the postdoctoral experience at Ohio State
This award recognizes a campus staff member who has demonstrated positive work ethic and a record of involvement, utilizes a leadership style that is an example for others to emulate and displays a strong sense of pride and spirit for Ohio State Lima.
This award will be presented to one staff member of The Ohio State University at Mansfield campus for the exceptional service, accomplishments, and leadership, to the Mansfield campus. The award recipient will receive a $1,000 monetary award and a commemorative plaque honoring his/her service to the campus.
ELIGIBILITY: Part-time staff of 50% or greater appointments and full-time staff currently employed on the Mansfield campus with a minimum of five years of continuous service at Ohio State in a regular non-faculty position may be nominated. Previous award winners are not eligible until five subsequent Mansfield Outstanding Staff Awards have been made.
CRITERIA: Award recipients will be selected on the merits and strengths of the following contributions: Enhancing the quality of work-life in ways that make a significant difference for colleagues or customers. Providing outstanding and ongoing excellence in services to faculty, staff, students, and/or other customers. Developing creative solutions to problems that result in significantly efficient department or university operations.
PROCESS: There is an on-line nomination form. The Office of Human Resources will announce the award, specify the deadline, and provide a link to the on-line nomination form. The winner will be selected by a voting committee that consists of the previous 3-5 award winners.
REQUIREMENTS: Completed nomination form. 1 to 3 letters of support. The nominating statement and letter(s) of support should include specific examples of the contributions the nominee has made. *Letter(s) of support should represent the diverse group of colleagues/customers (faculty, staff, students, or other individuals) who have personal knowledge of and who have benefited from the nominee’s services.
