Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Join us for a celebration of biodiversity and science at the MBD Open House on Feb. 8.

Get a behind-the-scenes view of our world-class collections, which together hold more than 9 million specimens of animals and plants. Examine the tools and gear that scientists use to collect and study biodiversity in the Biodiversity Toolbox. See your voice and learn about digital audio software. Discover what real DNA looks like in our Working DNA Lab. Have a blast with our multiple hands-on learning activities, including Insect Petting Zoo, Seedling Planting, Bug Drawing Station, and more.

Dozens of faculty, staff and student volunteers will be available to answer your biodiversity questions.

Go on a Treasure Hunt to stock up a biodiversity toolbox.  Museum students are packing up the equipment they need to do their field work around the world. Help them out and be rewarded with limited edition collection buttons. Everyone is welcome!
