Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Molecular Life Sciences Seminar Series

osu
January 30, 2018
All Day
170 Davis Heart & Lung Research Institute, 473 W. 12th Ave

Marcus Kronforst
University of Chicago

Marcus works in the area of evolutionary genetics and evo-devo using butterflies as a model system. His group addresses questions of origin and maintenance of phenotypic diversity at different levels of organization (from molecular/genetic to the population level). They do incredible work in these non-model organisms, taking advantage of various genomic and gene-editing tools to study molecular basis of such traits as butterfly wing coloration and mimicry. His group published multiple high-profile papers (in Nature, Nature Communications, PNAS, PLOS Genetics, Genome Biology, Cell Reports), and Marcus is a wonderful speaker.
