Dr. Slate’s research focuses on understanding how plant-environment interactions shape ecological communities. Research within the lab integrates expertise in vascular and non-vascular plant form and function with basic ecological theory and observations to generate a research program that spans from the organism to ecosystem at local, regional, and biogeographical scales and spans a basic to applied research spectrum.
