Introduced Smallmouth Bass have contributed to global declines in native fishes. Pine et al. (2025) hypothesize that warm, turbid conditions will limit Smallmouth Bass abundances and impacts in the Grand Canyon. Smallmouth Bass are abundant and native fish are declining in Desolation Canyon despite warm, turbid conditions.
