Abstract
Collections of Opilioacaridae from the Tembe region of South Africa allowed us the description of a new species of Salfacarus. This species exhibits key characteristics of the genus, including five foliate setae on the palp tarsus, each with four acute lobes, and a notably high number of v setae, 5 v1 and 5 v2 setae in the male, 7 v1 and 8 v2 in the female. Females possess a complex-type ovipositor, fully covered by fine spines, with two pairs of large channels alongside the ovipositor.
