Maria Miriti, associate professor in the EEOB, has received the Commitment to Human Diversity in Ecology Award from the Ecological Society of America (ESA). The award recognizes long-standing contributions of an individual toward increasing the diversity of future ecologists through mentoring, teaching or outreach. ESA will present the 2019 awards recognizing outstanding contributions to ecology in new discoveries, teaching, sustainability, diversity and lifelong commitment to the profession during the society’s annual meeting in Louisville, Kentucky, on Aug. 12.
