Zoology Alumna featured in Arts & Sciences College News
Dee Boersma’s work with both Magellanic penguins and Galapagos penguins has led to an enormous, invaluable archive of species data and the creation of Marine Protected Areas in both Argentina and Ecuador. Boersma earned her PhD in Zoology from OSU in 1974 and soon began her academic career at the University of Washington, where she is currently the Wadsworth Endowed Chair in Conservation Science and director of the Center for Ecosystem Sentinels.
