EEOB was privileged to be able to promote six of our lecturers to teaching faculty this year. These talented colleagues focus on teaching in EEOB and in the Center for Life Sciences Education. They are Dr. Cindy Bronson, Dr. Kellen Calinger-Yoak, Dr. Steve Chordas, Dr. Samantha Herrmann, Dr. Erin Lindstedt and Dr. Kristin Smock.
Steve has been teaching at Ohio State for 25 years. He is currently teaching Integrated Biology (BIOL3401) and various parts of the Introductory Biology series, as well as being the coordinator for BIOL3401. What he loves most about teaching is the moment that students really achieve understanding.
Kristen started teaching at Ohio State in March of 2010. She teaches in the Introductory Biology series and is developing a new course now. Her favorite part of teaching is connecting with students - especially when they connect things they learn in class to their lives and feel enriched because of it. And of course, when students have “aha!” moments in class - is there anything better?
Erin started teaching at Ohio State in 2015. She currently teaches Microscopic Anatomy, Human Anatomy, Evolution, Dynamics of Dinosaurs, Comparative Physiology and the Neurobiology of Behavior. Her favorite part of teaching is when she sees the students get enthusiastic and excited about biology. One even got a tattoo based on an Evolution lecture!
