News from the Johnson Lab

TPH
The Johnson Lab (Norman, Luciana, Zach and Huayan) visited the Canadian National Insect Collection May 7-9 to return specimens, and work with longtime collaborator, Dr. Lubo Masner.  Part of the material returned included holotype specimens for 15 new species of parasitoid wasps recently described.

Huayan Chen, PhD candidate in the Johnson Lab, won a US$ 1,500 Student Travel Award from the International Society of Hymenopterists (ISH) to present his work at the 9th ISH Congress that will happen in Japan next July.

Our volunteer of more than three years, Lauralee Thompson, moved to Chicago to be closer to her newborn grandson, Henry. Lauralee plans to continue contributing to the collection by working remotely in her spare time.

The Triplehorn Insect Collection is hiring undergraduate curatorial assistants for the Fall semester 2018. For more information please contact the Curator via the collection’s website.
