Dr. Bennett’s research focuses on two research areas: the influence of microbes (predominantly mutualistic fungi) on plant defense and interactions with other organisms (such as herbivores and pollinators), and evolution within plant-associated microbiomes. Dr. Bennett’s group applies techniques from a wide variety of disciplines (evolutionary ecology, chemistry, molecular biology, and physics) to address questions in these research areas.
